MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY DONORS
Please Review List of Acceptable Medical and Surgical Supplies

Hospitals, Medical Centers and Nursing Homes:
Afya recovers medical equipment and supplies in order to meet the expressed needs/wishes of health centers in Haiti and Africa.

Any healthcare facility, in the US, can become a donor of product to Afya.

Distant Medical Facilities:
Afya can work with new donors to arrange shipping of supplies to our warehouse.

Medical Practitioners/Private Offices:
When practitioners retire, move or replace inventory they are often interested in donating their existing equipment, supplies and furniture, all of which can take on a new life.

INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SUPPLY DONORS
Please Review List of Supplies that Individuals and Groups Can Collect

Schools and Universities:
Classroom, dorm beds and mattresses and room furniture can also be donated.

Individuals:
There are numerous reasons why individuals make donations of medical and humanitarian supplies. One reason is that a family member who was cared for at home passed away, and the family finds themselves faced with the challenge of disposing wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, nebulizers, adult diapers, chux, consumables, etc.

These types of items are extremely valuable to elderly people and the disabled in developing nations, as they can improve mobility and quality of life in a way that nothing else can. In addition, as we are responding to natural disasters in Haiti and Pakistan, many people are donating clean blankets and linens, sleeping bags, tents, tarps, toiletries, diapers, feminine hygiene products and other products.

Please check Afya's home page for updates about urgently needed supplies.
To help offset the cost of processing and shipping these donations, we ask everyone to consider making a financial donation.

Groups, families, organizations, companies:
Afya also encourages groups who want to get involved to lead collections of medical and humanitarian supplies – clean blankets and linens, sleeping bags, tents, tarps, toiletries, diapers, feminine hygiene products.
We have also found that if the group collecting items is located in the Metropolitan New York area, they find that coming to our warehouse to help sort and pack these items is an incredibly gratifying experience – it completes the cycle of altruism when people can see their donations packed and ready for shipment.

DONORS OF PRODUCTS AND SUPPLIES

Afya is a grateful recipient of a wide variety of medical and humanitarian supplies, from a broad range of donors.

These donations have helped us to ship over 2,500,000 pounds of supplies abroad, supplies that would have otherwise been slated for landfill or waste incineration.

If you are interested in donating supplies or learning more about the process, please contact sarah.schuyler@afyafoundation.org
